#8 – There are a lot of great things about this bathroom don’t you think?  I love the shiny blue walls, the terry cloth shower curtain and the weathered wall cabinet… and hardwoods in the bathroom!!  Guess they don’t have kids.  Photo from: Country Living

Spacious Clawfoot Tub Shower

The Great Wide Open Bathroom

#9 – Fantastic spacious bathroom here.  This is how a clawfoot tub shower curtain enclosure should be done.  One attachment at the riser and another in the back.  This way you can use two full curtains rather than the 3 or 4 that you’ll often see.  Great Stuff!!!  Photo from: elisalou.com

  1. I’ve been wondering what show curtains the clawfoot tubs would look like. I really love #7!

I -LOVE- the look of clawfoot tubs. I’ve always wanted one, but people keep on trying to discourage me. My friends’ concern always centers around water getting everywhere. It does seem that the best way to prevent water from hitting the floor outside the shower is to make sure the curtain bottom lines the inside of the tub (opposite of all the pics I see everywhere.) However, that seems to create a new problem. Will I have access to the fauscet and other shower controls? Won’t the curtain block them? And if they are blocked, how do I easily access them without getting water all over the wall and ground? Help?

Jacob, I’ve wondered the same thing as we have been remodeling our bathroom across the last 2 months. To go all the way around, you’ll generally need 2 curtains (as you see in most of the pics above). Just leave one of the seams at the shower supply line, which is also right at the handles. Then you can drape it to either side of the spigot. It may allow an occasional drop to get out, but most of the splash happens toward the sides and back anyway.

I have a claw foot tub that I am getting ready to enclose with a shower ring. With the curtain rods I have found there are ceiling and wall mounts. Then there is the subject of a one piece curtain. How does the curtain get around these mounts?

I’ve almost always seen multiple curtains used. Occasionally I will someone use a single curtain but it’s make installation more difficult OR it limits the use of the shower.
